How to replace the starter

PROCEDURE:
- Before every assembly, take out the tank: disconnect 2 tubes from the tank and undo the velcro which attached the tank.
- Check whether the engine is not hot. We recommend performing the assembly minimum of 0.5 hours after the engine is switched off.
- Check whether the ignition is not switched on (the LED must not be lit or flashing)!

1) Unscrew two screws holding the engine carbon cover. Remove this cover.
2) Unscrew the ground cable to the ignition and the second screw holding the plastic socket with the cables from the starter.
3) Disconnect the connector between the control unit and the engine.
4) Unscrew 4 screws (2 on each side) which attach the starter.
5) Remove the starter carefully.
6) Insert a new starter in the same place. Screw in 4 screws (2 on each side) holding the starter. Make sure that the new part
is not in contact with another part inside the engine and that there is space between the carburettor and starter (the screws
on the carburettor head do not touch the starter).
7) CHECK whether the gears fit into each other correctly. If you turn the jet pump shaft with your hand, both gears must be turning.
Try the whole revolution of the main gear.
Note: When turning the gears, engine compressions will occur. During the whole revolution,
the force needed for turning will not be the same.
8) Continue with items 4 to 1.
